Tim is Anishinaabe from Nipissing First Nation, located in the Robinson Huron Treaty area. He has worked in the business services industry for more than 25 years with experience in business development, negotiation strategies and building capacity through meaningful and respectful relationships with the Indigenous community. He made the move into the construction industry as he saw an opportunity to create wealth in communities and collaborate with Nations on their journey towards self determination. As the National Director, Indigenous Strategies with Chandos Construction, Tim’s mandate involves building capacity with Indigenous communities by increasing Indigenous procurement and enhancing Indigenous talent. Tim is passionate about sharing Indigenous history and values through cultural awareness discussions, presentations and speaking engagements.
Tim is the Secretary Treasure for the Anishnawbe Health Foundation, in Toronto, and has been a Board member since 2019. He served on the Board of Directors for Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business and was a Community Trustee with the Nipissing 2013 Boundary Claim Trust where he continues to volunteer with his community. Tim successfully completed the AFOA Harvard Business School program – Leading People and Investing to Build Sustainable Communities and shares his experience with Indigenous communities. He is passionate about wealth creation for Indigenous people and is an ally for Indigenous Women in leadership roles and in the trades. Tim always enjoys the opportunity to give back and share knowledge with Indigenous communities.
